Best Gift For The Golfer Dad! – Golf Fitness Trainer, Charlotte

/

June 18th is Father’s Day and if you are a golfer or your dad is a golfer, there’s no better gift than the gift of golf. Not just another golf shirt or box of balls, but something that will help them Play Golf Better, and stay in the game for years to come.

Stay In The Game

If you are as addicted to golf as the rest of my clients are you’ll want to stay in the game for as long as possible. The number one reason a golfer leaves the game is pain or injury. So, the focus of my programs is to keep you healthy, happy, and playing great golf.

In order to stay healthy on the golf course you need to be able to move efficiently. If you can’t move well from the following four areas, your body will find the path of least resistance, and that leads you to a place you don’t want to go.

The BIG 4
To have an efficient, repeatable, and powerful golf swing we need to be able to move freely from the following four places.
  1. Our hips (more specifically, hip internal rotation)
  2. Our thoracic spine (the part where your ribs are attached)
  3. Our shoulders (both up and down and in external rotation)
  4. Our neck (it needs to move well from side to side)

If you struggle with 2 or more of these mobility screens it will be difficult for you to be consistent, add distance to your swing, and more importantly, stay in the game because your likelihood of injury will be high and you will not enjoy golf very much. Anytime we find a physical limitation it can affect your movement pattern of the swing.

“I am a board-certified dental specialist who had suffered occupational back pain and stiffness for over 15 years. Brett has shown me how to stretch, strengthen, recognize, and head-off pain before it emerges. In short, Brett has made me pain-free! I am thrilled to be his client.”__Dr. Peter Babick

Your Body Swings The Club

No matter how you look at it, the body swings the club. Sure, it’s important to have clubs that fit you correctly and it’s an essential part of the sport to find time for lessons and practice, but if you don’t move well, those will have less of a benefit than getting in golf shape.

If you want to stay in the game, increases club head speed, hit the ball farther, and be a more consistent ball striker then you need to become a better mover.

“If your body doesn’t move the way it needs to, to play golf the way you want to, come see the Guru. I can help you Play Golf Better!”

Conclusion:

Your road to better golf starts with a complete assessment of what your body is capable of doing in relation to what is desired and required of a mechanically correct golf swing. Then we take the results of that screen and use it to formulate a plan that will help you make the most difference in your game in the least amount of time.

Have a look at some of the screens being performed on my friends from Me and My Golf at TPI headquarters in Oceanside, CA. You should get an idea of how the body affects your swing, and what can be done to improve the way you move so you can Play Golf Better.

Happy Father’s Day,

Brett
