Hello Charlotte Golfers!
As a matter of fact, I just reached my 13-year anniversary as a TPI Certified Fitness Specialist this month. My first live Level 1 workshop was in Chicago, IL back in August of 2010! Where does the time go?
What do you learn at a Level 1 Seminar?
In Level 1 you get introduced to the TPI Philosophy of how the human body works, how the golf swing works, and how the two of them work together. This is what we call the Body-Swing Connection. This becomes the pivot point from where a player begins their training program.
- How to evaluate the body and compare your movement capabilities to the best players in the world.
- We also talk about the Team Approach and how if you want to make a player better, you need to have the teaching pro, the medical team, and the fitness pro all on the same page and that they communicate with each other for the best interest of the player.
- We discuss the philosophy of the golf swing itself. There are many ways to swing a club, but only one efficient way.
- And finally, the most common swing characteristics many of you struggle with. When a characteristic affects your game, then it’s called a swing fault.
“My mission is to help golfers reduce the risk and rate of golf-related injuries, improve their golf performance, and keep them healthy. A healthy golfer plays more golf. Good for you, good for the game.”
I ran a highly successful golf fitness business in NYC for more than 10 years until the COVID-19 pandemic hit. My home base was Velocity Sports Performance at 133 E. 58th St. from 2008-2020. It closed on March 13th, 2020, and never reopened.
NY was never the same, so I decided to come to Charlotte and share my knowledge and successes with the golfers here.
Despite the fact that I’ve been doing this for so long I still consider myself a beginner and have a beginner’s mind. Always eager to review and learn. I’ve attended the Level 1 Certification seminar 5 times in person and a minimum of 20 or so reviews online since the pandemic and the explosion of Zoom.
Are You Ready To Play Golf Better?
If you’re a golfer whose body doesn’t work the way it needs to – to play golf the way you want to. I CAN HELP!
“I am a high handicap golfer in my early 60s who needed someone to help me learn to perform the requisite physical movements required to hit the golf ball further (and still stay on the fairway). I have had a number of trainers and golf instructors over the years; Brett is by far the best in helping me achieve my potential.”__Al Hurley
