What Dad Really Wants-BETTER GOLF! GolfForever, Charlotte, NC

It’s almost Dad’s day. And if your dad is a golfer, rest assured, he wants to Play Golf Better! What golfer wouldn’t want Longer Drives, Lower Scores, and Fewer Injuries?

Well if your dad wants more yards, more years, and more fun playing golf then he needs to move better to play better.

Golf is a rotational power sport. Which means if you want to be good at it you need to be able to rotate and be powerful.

Watch this:

The reality is that it takes the same amount of force to hit a golf ball (especially with a driver) as it does to hit a slap shot in hockey, to hit a baseball, a serve in tennis, or a boxer right cross. The difference between those sports and golf is that athletes who play or compete in those sports have been training to enhance their physical performance for much longer than golfers have.

Golf IS Rotation

So where do you need to be able to rotate from to be an effective, efficient, and powerful golfer? Well if we look at this oversimplified model of how the human body moves we will see that we need to be able to move freely from the following mobile segments:

  • ankles
  • hips
  • thoracic spine
  • shoulders
  • upper cervical spine
  • wrist

Unfortunately, it’s likely your dad is going to struggle with most of these segments.

Hips                                          Thoracic Spine                                      Shoulders

And if he does, golf is going to be frustrating!

The fact is “The average amateur golfer is not physically capable of performing the required body movements that are involved in a mechanically correct golf swing.”__Mike Boyle, Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Golfers Always Say:

When I get a message from a golfer that’s asking for help it almost always says the same thing:

  • “I’m interested in increased flexibility, injury prevention, and strength improvements.”
  • “I still have some ‘game’, but want to start playing more. My flexibility is non-existent.”
  • “I’m struggling with my golf fitness. Both flexibility and strength.”
  • Looking for a golf-specific training program to help with my hip flexibility and lower back pain.”

Essentially what they’re all saying is this: “My body doesn’t work the way it needs to – to play golf the way I want to and I have no clue what to do.” _HELP!

I’ve helped hundreds of golfers just like you, improve how they move and that leads to Longer Drives, Lower Scores, and Fewer Injuries.

“Golf instructors are great. They can change your swing but they can’t change your body. To get the most out of my significant investment in lessons is to have a body that can do more to give my pro more to work with.”__Ken Davenport

I’ve been working as a golf performance specialist since getting TPI certified back in August 2010. Since then I’ve achieved Fitness Level 3, Power Level 2 as well as Golf Level 2, amongst many other supporting golf-related certifications.
When GolfForever decided to offer a certification that would go along with their app I thought it would be a great compliment to what I already know and it is! The program starts with an assessment to see how you move. Then the app’s algorithm recommends exercises to help you with things you are deficient in. Examples are; Flexibility, Core Strength, and Balance. But you still have to do them on your own without expert eyes to guide you and keep you accountable.
That’s where I come in. I can help keep you accountable while giving you my expertise and hands-on guidance. So this year, treat Dad like a pro.  Get him what he actually wants, better golf! GolfForever will give your dad the same tools the pros use to move their best, swing their best, and play their best golf.

Getting dad a membership to GolfForever is the first step in helping your dad increase his flexibility, clubhead speed, distance, and energy, so he can play golf longer, and pain-free!

Brett’s Bottom Line:

“If you want to get better at golf, you need to focus on your body, not just your game.” __Brett Cohen
